Hand Broom Gouria
The hand broom Gouria collection is a special nod to a time old tradition of gathering straw grass by the river beds and water inlets around the Greek islands to create a sturdy handmade household "appliance" used for centuries before modern creation of electronic sweepers. Considered the strongest cleaning tool among a typical Greek household, and also a popular one to swat someone when they were misbehaving!
Still created today using the same techniques for gathering straw grass, they have also become Gouria, decorated with Evil Eyes, bright colored ribbons and other decor, to use as a wall hanging or display anywhere in the house, as a symbol to keeping a "clean" house by sweeping away the evil. These make a special house gift too!
Two sizes in designs as shown.
Each handmade, one of a kind
