Martis Bracelet - Constantinato Coin
On the 1st of March it is customary in Greece for everyone to wear these braided bracelets. These bracelets are called 'Martis', which means March. They are made of red and white string, and tokens of nature or symbols of Greek traditions. The legend of these bracelets dates back from ancient times in Greece. People wear these bracelets as a protection from the rays of the early Spring sun, and as good luck to usher in the warmer season. Commonly worn between March 1st through 31st, but can be enjoyed all year long!
